About Montenegro – Tourism

• Montenegrin tourist market has significantly increased in the past few years. The increase was especially seen in 2007, when there were more than 7.29 million guest nights, 6.44 million of which were from foreign tourists. When compared to 2006 total number of nights has increased by 22.9%.
• Montenegro has increasingly become an attractive tourist destination for tourists from Russia, Czech Republic, Albania and France. Former Yugoslav republics Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia also have significant share in total overnights.



• In Montenegrin tourist accommodation, private accommodation (private rooms and apartments) has a dominant role in total accommodation supply, participating with nearly 55%. Hotel accommodation still accounts for only 22.9% of tourist supply (number of beds).
• In 2007, the most popular tourist destination in Montenegro was Budva, which participated with 41% in total guest nights. Second largest destination was Herceg Novi, which attracted 23.2% of all tourist overnights.
